Job Description:
Amergis Boston is seeking an experienced Travel Pathology Assistant for a 13-week travel assignment in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have active ASCP certification and at least 2 years of experience as a Pathologist’s Assistant. Prior temporary or travel experience is strongly preferred. This role involves working in a hospital setting to support pathologists with specimen handling, processing, and performing related duties as part of the pathology team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pathologists in preparing and examining specimens, performing autopsies, and assisting with surgical pathology procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, processing, and documentation of tissue samples.
- Operate laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of pathology specimens and results.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
Experience & Requirements:
- Active ASCP Certification: Required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pathologist’s Assistant preferred.
- Temp Experience: Prior temporary or travel assignments are strongly preferred.
- COVID Vaccine: Not required; declination accepted.
